Kendal Terraced Sanctuary
A hillside garden reimagined as a sequence of distinct spaces, each with its own character and purpose.
The existing terraces had become tired and disjointed, with awkward level changes that worked against the garden rather than with it.
New steps were designed to reorder the flow through the space entirely — creating a considered journey from top to bottom, with each terrace given its own distinct identity.
Enclosed with textural planting and thoughtfully framed views, the result is an intimate, layered garden that makes the most of every level.
